It has been an exciting winter for Belle River District High School, and the Nobles have been busy with a series of events that brought together current students, future students and the wider community.

Winter Warmth Holiday Skate and Game  On Thursday, Dec. 18, current Nobles were invited to participate in a community skate at the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre. Afterwards, the Nobles boys hockey team took part in their annual Winter Warmth charity hockey game against the Erie Migrations Coyotes. As always, members of the community, including future Nobles, were encouraged to come cheer on the teams. Attendees were also asked to bring warm clothing and canned‑goods donations to support local families in need.

Noble for a Day   On Nov. 28 and Dec. 4, local elementary school students visited BRDHS to experience being a Noble for a day. “Grade 9 day was really fun,” said Aleena Holmes, a Lakeshore Discovery student who attended. “I got to meet lots of teachers and students.” Students selected three classes to attend, including Technological Design, where they created Noble stickers, and Computer Technologies, where they worked with microbits. It was an exciting day for all future Nobles.

Holiday Trolley   The annual Noble Holiday Trolley was a tremendous success. On Dec. 3, the band, drama students and dance team travelled to Centennial Central Public School, Lakeshore Discovery School and Belle River Public School to spread holiday spirit by performing seasonal music, presenting a play about kindness and sharing, and showcasing their annual Christmas dance. The Holiday Trolley has been a Nobles tradition since 2017 and continues to bring joy to younger students. Music teacher and band director Mr. Walstedt said, “The excitement from the crowd was contagious and a great time was had by all.” The Noble family looks forward to continuing this tradition of spreading holiday cheer.

Grade 9 Open House   On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Belle River opened its doors to future Noble families for the Grade 9 Open House. Future students took part in activities and trivia in the gym with current students. Guidance department head Ms. Moison said, “The event captured the genuine sense of community and care that makes Belle River High School an amazing place to learn and grow.” Parents and students explored the school and spoke with teachers about the classes and programs offered at BRDHS.

With such an enthusiastic start to the season, it’s clear the future is bright for every new member of the Noble family.
