The Town of Tecumseh came alive with festive cheer as residents and visitors gathered for the annual Christmas in Tecumseh celebration at Town Centre Park.
The evening began with the much-anticipated Santa Parade, which set off from Lacasse Park at 6:00 p.m. and made its way to Town Hall. Families lined the streets to catch a glimpse of Santa and Mrs. Claus, who later greeted children in Council Chambers, spreading holiday joy and creating lasting memories.
Following the parade, the community enjoyed a wide range of free family-friendly activities. Highlights included a lively petting zoo, public skating, horse and carriage rides, and the Handmade Holiday Market at the OPP building plaza on Lesperance Road, where local vendors showcased unique seasonal gifts.
“Community spirit thrives during the holiday season in Tecumseh,” said Mayor Gary McNamara. “From the excitement of the parade to taking in all the activities offered throughout the evening, this event brought the magic of the holiday season to life. It was an evening filled with joy, tradition, and the spirit of giving.”
In keeping with that spirit, donations of non-perishable food items, clothing, and unwrapped gifts were collected throughout the evening for Goodfellows at Town Hall and the Tecumseh Arena and Recreation Complex, helping support local families during the holiday season.
With festive lights, laughter, and the warmth of community togetherness, Christmas in Tecumseh once again proved to be a cherished tradition, reminding everyone that the holiday season is about celebration, generosity, and shared joy.
