Municipal elections in Ontario are held every four years on the fourth Monday of October. The upcoming municipal election will be held Monday, October 24, 2022.
Notice of Nominations for Municipal Office, Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (s.32)
NOTICE is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Town of LaSalle that Nominations may be filed for the following offices:
* Mayor (1 seat)
* Deputy Mayor (1 seat)
* Councillor (5 seats)
* Greater Essex County District School Board (English Public) (1 seat)
* Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board (English separate) (1 seat)
* Conseil scolaire catholique Providence (French separate) (1 seat)
Nominations must be filed using the prescribed Nomination Paper and must be accompanied by the prescribed Endorsement of Nomination, signed by at least 25 persons (School Board candidates exempt). Nomination forms must be filed either in person or via agent, with the Returning Officer/Clerk, or designate, during regular office hours between Monday, May 2, 2022, and Thursday, August 18, 2022, and between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022 (Nomination Day). Please make an
appointment to file your nomination.
The required filing fee for the Mayor is $200 and for all other offices is $100.
Cash, debit, certified cheque or money order, made payable to the “Town of LaSalle” are acceptable forms of payment, and must be accompanied with the filing.
If there is an insufficient number of certified candidates to fill the available officers, nominations will be reopened by the Returning Officer, for the vacant offices only. Additional nominations would then
be accepted between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
Candidates must not spend or raise any funds for their election campaign before filing their nomination.

If you are a resident, owner, or tenant of property in LaSalle, a Canadian citizen, and at least 18 years of age, you can vote in the 2022 LaSalle Municipal Election.
Check, update or add your information to the Municipal Voters’ List at www.voterlookup.ca. Even if you voted in a recent election, you may not be on the Municipal Voters’ List. Voters who are on the Municipal Voters’ List will receive a Voter Information Letter (VIL) closer to the election, which will include a personal Online Voting PIN.
Method of Voting
Residents will be able to cast their vote online or by telephone anytime, anywhere using an internet-connected computer or mobile device, or by touch-tone telephone from 10 a.m. on October 14 to 8 p.m. on October 24, 2022. Visit the Town of LaSalle website, How to Vote web page, for full details.
