Mask Mandates Lifted in LaSalle

Following the Province of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen, masks will no longer be mandatory at the LaSalle Civic Centre or at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex beginning on Monday, March 21. Although wearing a mask is no longer mandated, the Town recognizes that some patrons may feel more comfortable wearing a mask in public settings and they are welcome to do so. While COVID-19 restrictions are being lifted, it may take some time for everyone to adjust. Please be kind and respectful to one another.

The current regulations also allow the procedure for swimming lessons to change. For swimming lessons in the spring session (beginning on April 11), parents will no longer be required to enter the water with their children in Preschool 1-5 or Swimmer 1 and 2 classes. Please note that these changes take place in the spring session only; the winter session remains the same.

Under the provincial regulations, masks will continue to be mandatory in high-risk and congregate settings including public transit. This means that LaSalle Transit riders are still required to wear masks while on the bus. This requirement ensures transit continues to be a safe and reliable mode of transportation.

We will continue to follow the directives of our public health officials and will adjust programs and services as required. If you are not feeling well, please stay home and do not go to work, school or take part in other activities. Thank you for your cooperation.
