Bella Cope wins local Royal Canadian Legion Poetry Contest

Congrats to Bella Cope from St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic High School on winning first place for the Royal Canadian Legion Poetry contest at both the local and Zone levels.

Bella’s poem has now moved on to the Southwestern District level.

Her work encourages youth to remember the sacrifices of our veterans.

“I am a veteran from Afghanistan and it brought me to tears” said Ret. Lt. Col. Morris Brause.

Principal Laura Beltran added, “When I read Bella’s poem, I was so proud because she is continuing the legacy of what educators strive to do:  remember the sacrifices of our veterans so they are not forgotten”.

Good luck Bella!
