LaSalle Explores Town History

The Town of LaSalle has launched an interactive timeline exploring the Town’s history starting from the 1700’s. Key dates are highlighted throughout the timeline bringing users on a journey through what has made LaSalle the unique and vibrant community it is today.

“This timeline gives our community a glimpse of where we came from and how our community has grown and changed,” said Dawn Hadre, director of Strategy and Engagement.  “We planned to launch the site today to celebrate the Town of LaSalle incorporation date, June 1, 1991.”

Learn about the Petite Côte region, the Rum Running years, and the original Town of LaSalle. The Town’s investments in watermains and green spaces, and the building of the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex. Throughout the five main timeline categories, there are a number of newspaper articles and photographs celebrating LaSalle’s past.

The Town of LaSalle has worked with the international award-winning firm, Douglas Marketing Group, to design and build the interactive elements of the timeline. Visit the timeline to explore and learn more about LaSalle’s rich history at www.livinglasalle.ca.
